A. Blaine Bowman,
Director
Blaine Bowman, Chairman of Dionex Corporation, has been
with Dionex since 1977, when it was. a $1 million
operation. Since then, the company has increased sales
and profits every year to sales of more than $259
million. Mr. Bowman served as President and Chief
Executive Officer of Dionex until July 2002, when he
was named Chairman. Before joining Dionex, Mr. Bowman
was a management consultant with McKinsey and Company
and a product engineer at Motorola Semiconductor
Products Division. Mr. Bowman holds a B.S. in Physics
from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A. from
Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Sheldon Engelhorn,
Chairman
Mr. Engelhorn is an active early-stage private investor
in technology and life sciences companies. In 1987, he
co-founded NOVEX, a biotechnology research tools
company. During his tenure at NOVEX he held senior
management positions including Vice President R&D,
Executive Vice President Corporate Development,
President and CEO. NOVEX achieved $35M in annual sales
prior to its merger with Invitrogen in 1999. Prior to
founding NOVEX, he held a variety of positions in
product development, product support, marketing and
field sales at Bio-Rad Laboratories. He began his
career at the University of California, San Diego, as a
Staff Research Associate in the Metabolic Disease
Division of the UCSD medical school. He has multiple
publications in chromatography and electrophoresis and
holds a number of patents, including patents on NOVEX's
key technologies. Mr. Engelhorn sits on the boards of
three private early-stage technology companies.

Richard H.
Freyberg, Director
Rich Freyberg is a senior-level executive with more
than 30 years experience in Information Technology and
Financial Services, and a proven record of
accomplishment of applying emerging technology to
strategic business problems. Rich was formerly CIO of
Schwab Capital Markets, a Managing Director of
Syndicated Lending Technology at Bankers Trust and a
First Vice President of Retail Technology at Security
Pacific. Prior to these he started up several
successful software development firms specializing in
distributed, mission critical banking applications. He
holds Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science
degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
from M.I.T. Rich is currently on the Advisory Boards of
Northstar, Certagon and Mainsoft; and on the Board of
Directors of IO Informatics, APCaP and Gold Medal
Foundation.

Kathy Gibson,
Director
Ms. Gibson is founder and President of Helio Consulting
(www.helioconsulting.com)
whose mission is to provide advice and consultation on
how best to identify and implement innovation across a
spectrum of industries. Prior to forming Helio
Consulting, she held a variety of positions with Pfizer
Worldwide, including CIO for Research, VP Business
Innovation and Global Head, Advanced Research
Technologies. She has focused her career at Pfizer
tackling some of Research and Development's toughest
challenges in the areas of productivity, business
efficiency, change management and innovation by
applying industry knowledge along with a solid
background as a technologist.

Robert A. Stanley,
Director
Bob Stanley co-founded IO Informatics in 2003 with Dr.
Erich Gombocz. Bob shares his vision with the IO
Informatics team -- to deliver on the promise and
realize the benefits of data integration, informatics
and knowledge applications for Life Sciences and
Healthcare.
Prior to founding IO Informatics, Bob was Chief
Information Officer at Biosentients, where he designed
informatics software for distributed research and data
integration. Experience directing research at New York
University's Bruner / Feldman Cognitive Science
Laboratory, as well as work at NYU’s Academic
Computing Facility / Faculty Innovation Center provide
additional background for his design of the Sentient
informatics software. Other experience includes his
time as Associate Scientist at Zeitgeist y2k01, Ltd.,
where Bob focused on project management and design for
data management and informatics applications.
Bob received a graduate degree in Sociology of
Knowledge (epistemology and ontology) from the
University of Chicago and did postgraduate work
focusing in ontologies, dynamic structures and networks
at New York University. He is published and referenced
in peer-reviewed journals, trade publications and texts
and has chaired and presented at numerous conferences.
Bob has active, granted and continuing information
technology patents in the US and internationally. In
addition to his academic and corporate experience, he
has served as principal investigator and project
manager for major projects, including the software
technology development for a large, collaborative NIST
bioinformatics project (NIST Advanced Technology
Program). He is an elected and active member of several
professional organizations, including Phi Beta Kappa,
the American Association for Artificial Intelligence,
the American Medical Informatics Association, and
others.
