IO INFORMATICS ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF KATHY GIBSON TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
BERKELEY, CA - April 17, 2009.
IO Informatics (IOI), a leader in data integration and semantic technology-based knowledge applications for the Life Science and Healthcare industries, today announced the appointment of Kathy Gibson to its Board of Directors. Ms. Gibson brings more than 13 years of senior level life science informatics expertise to IOI.
Ms. Gibson has recently formed Helio Consulting (www.helioconsulting.com) whose mission is to provide advice and consultation on how best to identify and implement innovation across a spectrum of industries. Prior to forming Helio Consulting, she held a variety of positions with Pfizer Worldwide, including CIO for Research, VP Business Innovation and Global Head, Advanced Research Technologies. She has focused her career at Pfizer tackling some of Research and Development’s toughest challenges in the areas of productivity, business efficiency, change management and innovation by applying industry knowledge along with a solid background as a technologist.

Ms. Gibson and IOI first began working together on the PROOF initiative for presymptomatic detection of risks for organ failure, out of Dr. Bruce McManus’s iCapture Institute (http://www.icapture.ubc.ca). Kathy recently joined a number of industry leaders on IOI’s Personalized Medicine Working Group (http://www.io-informatics.com/company/working-groups.html#PersMedicine) whose focus is on informatics knowledge applications produced by connecting life sciences informatics and the point of care.
