IO Informatics today announced the Sentient Knowledge Explorer 4.0 a milestone release of the industry-leading semantic data integration and knowledge management software for life sciences and healthcare. Delivering radical workflow breakthroughs that bring down the walls between data and researchers — and packed with several feature innovations—the new Knowledge Explorer advances uniquely efficient data integration and transformative knowledge applications with new levels of scalability and performance.

Ontology validation 'on the fly' and dynamic cache management significantly increase import speed into semantic data stores, and enhanced memory management and configurable local persistent buffer account for dramatic reduction in query time," Dr. Erich Gombocz, CSO of IO Informatics, explained.

"We've also added automation for data import and mapping using monitored server folders, which automatically process incoming content, map it to RDF and write directly to a semantic database of your choice. The process runs in the background, can handle multiple folders with different mapping instructions, and is able to federate the output between multiple triples stores. This way, updates can occur fully automated, tracked and logged," he added.

"On the query side, we added the ability to make relationships variable in our graphical SPARQL builder and the frequently requested ability to federate across multiple graphs."
